SilverSneakers® to ♥♥

A fitness program developed by HEALTHWAYS, is a long term, cost effective and preventative managed care solution. SilverSneakers® is a unique exercise, physical activity and social oriented program designed to encourage Medicare eligible members, often burdened by multiple chronic conditions, to increase their levels of physical activity and motivate them to continue to be active. The program is the leading senior exercise program in the United States.

The District is excited to offer this program to all seniors within our community. You don't have to be a member of SilverSneakers® to participate. Just a desire to challenge yourself to feel better. We offer 2 levels of SilverSneakers® programs for every ability.    

SilverSneakers® – Muscular Strength & Range of Movement (MSROM)

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercise designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® – Cardio Circuit

Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. Hope to see you there!

A special time for a special price. Use the fitness equipment from 12:00 until 1:00 pm for only $3.00 M-F.

Strength and Conditioning ♥♥ to ♥♥♥

Begin with a 10 minute warm-up cardio program, then get ready to really workout! Weights, elastic bands, stability balls, ankle weights and more are used in this class. Each class focuses on a different part of the body.

Gentle Yoga

Enjoy exercising, breathing and relaxation. Designed to improve or maintain the health of the individual. Performing these exercises on a regular basis can help prevent the onset of some health problems associated with aging. Build and maintain muscle, flexibility and strength.

 

We want to hire Certified Aerobics Instructors interested in teaching Boot Camp, Zumba, Yoga, Ballroom Dance and/or other specialty classes in the evenings. Call Marilyn Stadler at 360-293-0673.
